Supreme Court to Hear Oral Arguments on Immigration Law SB 1070 on April 25

Phoenix, AZ - Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, honorary co-chair of BorderSheriffs.com, will attend the Supreme Court oral arguments over SB 1070, Arizona‘s law enforcement and immigration law, on April 25 in Washington, D.C.  Sheriff Dever, whose county shares 82 miles of border with Mexico, have filed a brief in support of the law and will be available for interview leading up to and immediately following the hearings.  "While some of the nation‘s top judges continue to deliberately misinterpret the Constitution, we trust that the Supreme Court will find that states can defend their borders when the federal government refuses to do its job," said Sheriff Dever.  Contact Jameson Cunningham at jcunningham@sbpublicaffairs.com.

National Pro-life Group Endorses Mitt Romney, Will Mobilize Key Pro-life Voting Bloc to Defeat President Obama

Washington, DC - The Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List), a national pro-life organization, has announced its endorsement of Mitt Romney for President.  "Now is the time to unite behind Governor Romney in order to defeat the most ideologically pro-abortion president in our nation‘s history," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA List. "The SBA List is proud to endorse Governor Romney and plans to spend $10 to $12 million in senate and presidential battleground states mobilizing pro-life voters to ensure victory.  Women deserve a president who truly respects our views on an issue so central to womanhood-a President Romney will be that man."  Contact Jameson Cunningham at jcunningham@sbpublicaffairs.com.

Obama‘s Buffett Rule Hits Dead-End

Washington, DC - "The Buffett Rule is running into a dead end because a significant part of the political class in Washington has finally admitted the idea is little more than a gimmick that would do nothing to fix the country‘s problems," The Washington Examiner‘s Byron York writes. "Of course, conservatives and Republicans have thought that all along.  But in recent days, the trouble for Obama has been far broader, as commentators and politicians -- faced with nonpartisan estimates that enacting the Buffett Rule would raise about $4.7 billion in revenue per year, less than a drop in the bucket of a $1 trillion-plus annual deficit -- admitted that there‘s just not much there." Shocking Bias in Textbooks Whitewashes 9/11 Attacks, Obscures Islam‘s Treatment of Women

Washington, DC - A new report from ACT! For America Education revealing political correctness in how middle and high school children are taught the history of 9/11 and the role of women in Islam is sending shockwaves through the country.  The 228-page report, Education or Indoctrination?: the Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks, shows how top publishing houses like Macmillan/McGraw Hill and Houghton Mifflin have created a false historical narrative that misrepresents Islam and its role in key historical events.  "The history of 9/11, the biggest terrorist attack on American soil, is now being whitewashed by these publishing houses that are transmitting a faulty history to our children," said Brigitte Gabriel, President of ACT! For America Education.  "Our children, too young to remember 9/11, are being fed history from a politically correct spoon."  Contact Jameson Cunningham at jcunningham@sbpublicaffairs.com.

New Book Debacle Shows Obama‘s Recovery Worse than Any Period in History

Washington, DC - Prepare to enter into this bizarro world during this fall‘s presidential campaign, says The Washington Times. Every week it seems a new corporate boondoggle, propped up with stimulus funds or promoted as a way to create "green jobs," goes belly up, laying off workers. A new book Debacle: Obama‘s War on Jobs and Growth and What We Can Do Now to Regain Our Future is a guide to the failure of the stimulus and the spend-now, pay-later Keynesian economic theories that inspired it.  "In the first 29 months during the Reagan recovery, the number of jobs grew by 8 percent," they write. "In contrast, over the same time, the number of jobs under Obama has grown by just 0.25 percent." Recall that the recession of the early 1980s, following a long period of stagflation, employment reached 10.8 percent in 1982, the highest since the Great Depression. Similarly, annual GDP growth has averaged 2.5 percent since June 2009, compared with 6 percent over a comparable period of the Reagan administration. Barney Frank: On Second Thought, Passing Obamacare Might Have Been a Mistake

Washington, DC - "Obamacare likely cost Democrats the House in 2010, and it continues to plague the re-election prospects of the man whose name it bears, due to its enduring unpopularity," writes Townhall.com‘s political editor Guy Benson.  "I‘m particularly amused by how the soon-to-be former Congressman now says he (privately, of course) warned Obama about this misbegotten endeavor from the get-go, patting himself on the back for his retrospective wisdom.  Yes, because Barney Frank has established himself as an accomplished soothsayer regarding impending political calamity."
